"You wanted to see the Golden Girls after their bath so we thought you would enjoy these pictures.
They are still shy but are adjusting to life at the shelter well. They are just too cute!"
We took pictures of these two girls before they got their bath so they look a little dirty but it doesn't really take away from their cuteness. They were scared being in a new place and getting shots and wormer didn't help but they did really good. By the time they were ready for their baths, their little tails were starting to wag.
Mom is medium size, mixed breed dog and dad is unknown.
These two will be available for adoption next week. Names are under the pictures.

"BABY LION" nice old CHOW *PERMANENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED* "OLD DOG HAVEN"

Old Dog Haven FB post 5/5/25

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME NEEDED

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME NEEDED:
(in W. Washington or Portland, OR only)
"Baby Lion" is a spayed female chow chow who weighs 40 pounds. She is a very old lady. This girl is deaf, has cataracts but sees enough to get around, and is very arthritic but particularly needs help going down stairs - a ramp is ideal - which is probably both arthritis and vision. Her
labwork is quite good.
In her temporary foster home she is living with other dogs and likes having them around but not bothering her. She chased (slowly!) the cat for a bit and now coexists peacefully. She wants to be within sight of her people but sleeps a great deal! She
is housebroken and needs to be in cool spaces; getting all that coat
trimmed way down will help a lot.
This is a nice old lady who's been glad to be pampered and loved - we've done the initial vetwork, now she needs a permanent home for "hospice and assisted living".
Remember that Old Dog Haven covers all vet bills-thanks to donations!
If you can open your heart and home to an old dog who needs you, we have a long wait list! We are looking for new forever foster homes! Please read more about joining our network of homes:
Once you have read through the information, please email us at:
applications@olddoghaven.org
PLEASE NOTE: We respond to inquiries within 24 hours. If you haven't received an email please check your spam folder.

Lacey Shelter ID: 105886  Golden Retriever, spayed female, 12 yr 78 lbs

Meet Lacey and Sasha, our Dogs of the Week!
Adopting two dogs at once can be daunting, we know - especially when they're larger dogs! But if you're looking for a pair that go together like peanut butter and jelly, we have just the ladies for you! Meet Sasha, a 6 year old German Shepherd who weighs about 71lbs. Sasha is a polite and lovely shepherd lady, who needs everyone to know that she is a package deal - she needs to go home with her sister, Lacey! Lacey is a 12yr old Golden Retriever, so be sure to read her adoption profile, too! Sasha and Lacey are bonded sisters who don't like to be apart from one another here at the shelter. Due to no fault of their own, they have found themselves in need of a new home, where they can bond with a new family while also having one another to rely on for emotional security.
1) Sasha is a sweet middle-aged lady who is looking for a moderately active home to call her own. She may do great as a first time dog for a family who is prepared for two large dogs to enter their home at the same time.
2) Sasha and Lacey have been dog friendly/dog neutral here at the shelter! They may do well with another lower energy dog, but likely would be just happy with one another.
3) We don't know how Sasha and Lacey will be with cats or other small animals, so please discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor if you have any resident cats or small animals.
4) Due to their age and wiggly nature, Sasha and Lacey may do best in a home with children who are at least 9 years of age and older.

CHASE #166428   male, 2mths 10 lbs

"looks like" Border Collie   $600

I'm just a puppy! I'm still learning about the world and I'm ready to do that with a new family. I may be new to this 'family dog' stuff, but I've mastered the most important thing: being cute.

My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them:

"Chase is a vocal puppy with a confident, bold personality. He's looking for an active family to burn off the energy, have fun and new adventures. He is teething. A softer chew is a good pacifier so have a few in easy reach. Chase gets along with the foster volunteer's two female dogs. Puppy training is recommended."

"PETEY" PIT PUPPY NEEDS FOSTER (or adopter!)! "HARMONY NEW BEGINNINGS Animal Rescue" Oregon

"PETEY" Pitmix PUPPY - Harmony New Beginnings Animal Rescue (FB POST)

"Our boy Petey needs a new home or foster home. The sooner the better. He is a young pitbull and in chewing phase. He loves people and is super smart. He has a high prey drive towards cats. He harasses them which why he is not working out in his new home. I will add more information when I sit down to pull up his records but we neutered, vaccinated and chipped him. We are trying not to bring him back to the rescue because the only safe spot we have for him he would be alone and sad. He and his sister were starting to fight. My big dog homes are all full. Can you open up your heart and home to a sweet young boy?"
